The steamship Bore was built for Malmö harbor-management to serve as a reserve ferry when the regular ferries could not cope with the ice conditions and as icebreaker. As icebreaker, the steamship Bore could break 30cm thick ice at a constant speed and break through pack-ice of thickness up to three meters.
Today the Steam Icebreaker Bore is restored nearly to its original condition.
